Sponsoring trainee healthcare workers in developing countries

Medic to MedicThe UK has 230 doctors per 100,000 people. Malawi has only 2 doctors per 100,000 people. Help us support trainee doctors in developing countries. The lack of trained doctors in developing countries is obstructing the delivery of basic healthcare.

In Malawi, most families cannot afford the tuition fees for medical school. Those who do make it spend valuable study time looking for funding. Many students drop out, even in final clinical years, from lack of money.

Picture of Malawi CollegeWe select our students on the basis of their needs and academic potential. Through your sponsorship, we pay the tuition fees for these students for a full year plus allowances where necessary. Regular donors will receive biannual email updates of their students' progress and a newsletter.

We're currently supporting trainee doctors, physiotherapists and clinical officers in Malawi and are looking forward to rolling out the programme in Uganda by training doctor and pharmacists.
